Hi i have made a recent purchase of the license copy for tick story standard version 1.8., and am still facing the below described issues.

I did created FXT files for Gold and it was working in the backtest when i did that same for GBP/JPY i am getting this problem, the tester says "GBPJPY_0.fxt cannot open [5]" i hope you can look into that.

Can you suggest what seems to be the problem .?

Problem still persists with GBP/AUD .

And at the end the back-test completed smoothly., just for XAU/USD please suggest a way out.

I am attaching the images for error messages for GBPJPY please review it.

As there was no problem with Gold then i believe there is no problem in my CSV2FXT script.

Suggest a way out ASAP !

As mentioned prior to your purchase, we don't support third-party scripts however we can help you trouble-shoot to a point. If this doesn't work, you will need to refer back to the vendor of the CSV2FXT script.
Please note that the "Cannot open file [5]" error directly relates to MT4 rejecting the FXT file for some reason. As discussed in this thread:

The reasons for this can be:

1) Invalid header information in the FXT (which your CSV2FXT will be producing).
2) You have expored less than 100 bar of data. Export at least 6 months of data to make sure.
3) Check that your FXT files are not greater than 4GB.

Once you have confirmed points 2) and 3), the only other known possible cause is that your CSV2FXT is producing incorrect FXT header information for the pair you are testing (different pairs require different information which is why is may work for one pair but not another). As such, you will need to demonstrate this issue to the author of your CSV2FXT script by doing the following:

1) Select the GBPAUD symbol, the 'Control points' modelling type and M15 timeframe and press 'Back-test'.
2) Note if your back-test completes correctly. If it proceeds without the 'Cannot open' error, then you have proven that there is no issue with your MT4 terminal and Tickstory and you can continue to step 3).
3) In Tickstory, go to Tools->FXT Editor and open the file named GBPAUD15_1.fxt. Take a screenshot of the result.
4) Produce the FXT files with your CSV2FXT script for the GBPAUD & the 15-minute timeframe.
5) In Tickstory, go to Tools->FXT Editor and open the file named GBPAUD15_0.fxt (note the "_0" in the filename, not "_1"). Take a screenshot of the result.
6) If you compare the two FXT screenshots you will see there are differences. You should be able to correct the problem by editing the FXT "GBPAUD15_0.fxt" file so it matches the information shown in "GBPAUD15_1.fxt".
7) If you save all your changes, then you can try back-testing again and it should proceed without any issue. If this is the case, you will need to report the problem to the author of your script.

Great news, vc+kc. As per our discussion offline, your solution was as follows:

From the Mt4 data editor in tickstory i got to know that, the FXT file firstly was less than 100 bars and secondly i was putting the pippete value rather than pip value so rather than a 15 pip chart i had created a 150 pip chart FXT while hence less bars and hence error "Cannot open GBPJPY_01FXT [5]" ERROR.
