Hi,
I've used tickstory succesfully a few weeks ago, now it is not working as expected.
I've downloaded and exported data to MT4. When I open the offline chart of the downloaded data I see a flat line.
This should be the USDJPY daily offline chart.
Inside tickstory if right click and choose Show Chart I see the correct graph. So tickstory has the correct data. But when exporting something weird seems to happen. And MT44 seems not to be able to read the data.
Do you have any idea of what is wrong and how to solve it?
If you need more information, just ask.
I really don't know what to do.
Thank you.
Export Seems Not To Work
Re: Export Seems Not To Work
Hi Mbraun,
Thanks for the screenshot - it really helps. Looking at your MT4 chart, I noticed that the entire date range spans only 1 day, the 1st Feb. Are you able to zoom out/rescale your chart so you see other days?
Thanks.

Re: Export Seems Not To Work
That is weird for a daily chart isn't it?
I can zoom in and zoom out. But I continue seeing only one day in the lower axis. Whem I zoom in (image) there are a lot of flat bars. When I hover the mouse over it I can seen the OHLC data and it is the same for every bar. The data should be since since 2007. This is happening for all 9 pairs that I downloaded in the past. They were working in the past, but now they are not. I've tried to export again after I noticed it, but it did not help.

Re: Export Seems Not To Work
I could zoom in and change the scale. When I changed the scale we can see it is not a completely flat line.
Open, Low and High of each bar is the same. But the Close changes. And all bars are from the same day 01/Feb/2016 at 00h00min
I've downloaded this data a few weeks ago. And back then I was able to use it correctly for backtest. Now the backtest does not work and the graph is so weird. I tried to export again, but it did not solve. I really don't know what is hapenning.
Any clue is welcome. Thanks.

Re: Export Seems Not To Work
Hi Mbraun,
Are you sure you're opening the "USDJPY, Daily" chart or the "USDJPY, Daily (Every tick)"? If you are doing the latter, then you are basically viewing every tick of data in the daily charts and you will get the results you show. We have tried exporting the month of February and everything looks fine if opening the "USDJPY, Daily" offline chart.
Hope this helps.

Re: Export Seems Not To Work
You are correct. I was opening the every tick offline chart. Thats why the graph seemed to be flat.
But something wrong was happening. An EA that I had back tested a few weeks ago was giving completely different results. Almost 100% of the trades were losses. I decided to reinstall MT4, Tickstory and export just a few months of data to test and now the results of the backtest were good. I thought the problem was because of the flat chart. It wasn't because of that. I don't know what was wrong, but it seems fixed.
I'm exporting all 9 years again. In a few hours I'll be sure.
Thank you.

Re: Export Seems Not To Work
Hi Mbraun,
Good to hear that the issue was resolved. Regarding the 9 year historical back-test, please be aware that MT4 has a limitation of 4GB maximum size for their FXT/data files. The issues you are having may relate to this, although some people have reported successfully testing beyond this limit. I would suggest to break down your tests into smaller periods so you first establish what the expected result sets are for your EA and then go from there,
Hope this helps.
