Lost 99% of the original ticks in MT4 Build 910

Post by wemersonrv »

Hi,

My tickstory lite is strange... I've downloaded EURUSD D1 from 2014-12-01 to 2015-10-31 and has above 22 milion tickets. But when i try to make some test on Strategy Testar in ActivTrades Metatrader 4, the ticks down below 14000.

As you can see on the image below:

Image

1- Before test i have 22,181,849 ticks
2- When run test, the ticks changes to 13.471 and the modelling down below 5%
3- After test remains only 13,471 ticks... lost more than 99% of the original ticks

This is an Tickstory Lite issue or something on my Metatrader ?

My platform is Build 910

Hi Wemersonrv,

Could you please clarify whether you are using a licensed version of Tickstory? If not, then this may explain the issue.

Thanks.

Hi Wemersonrv,

As per our confirmation offline, you are using the free version of Tickstory which only supports Builds 765 and below. This is the cause of your issue. The solution is to either upgrade to a licensed version of Tickstory or downgrade your MT4 Build. Please refer to this link for a list of differences between free and licensed: http://tickstory.com/download-tickstory/.

Hope this helps.

Hi, i've buy a payd version of tickstory and try again; but now, every time o download the ticks the results of backtests are different... the actual version of metatrader is build 950 but the pro version accepts only until build 920 and my broker does not have this build, only 950.

When will you release support for Build 950?

Hi Wemersonrv,

There are currently issues with the latest versions including a problem with zero-spread. As such the recommended version is 910. You can find more about rolling back to this version here:

http://tickstory.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=876

At this stage, using Build 910 will ensure you get the most accurate back-tests possible. We will be giving updates about any new releases on this thread:

http://www.tickstory.com/forum/viewtopi ... 6&start=60

Also, as recommended, please keep a separate MT4 installation specifically so you can perform back-testing while leaving your live terminal at whatever your broker is recommending.

Thanks.

Hi.

I've make a downgrade to build 910 but the Modelling quality still shows n/a instead 99% or other result in percent... Can i trust these results?

See the backtest report:

And see below my version:

Remember, i am using the licenced PRO version (1.7.3) of Tickstory.

Hi Wemersonrv,

Have you run through the FAQ to trouble-shoot some of the common problems for "My MT4 back-test reports that the modeling quality is "N/A"" here: http://tickstory.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=613?

Thanks.

Hi. Understand now... The only thing I had'nt done was open the metatrader from tickstory (F8)

As you can see. now the 99,90% modelling is fine and the results is equals the previous report but with 99,90% right. I believe the teste it's fine, just the modelling information was wrong... I have a lot of testes with N/A but when i run mt4 from tickstory the modeelling changes to 99,90%... Can i trust in all previous test ? It took me several weeks to make them and not want to repeat all over again!!!

Hi Wemersonrv,

If you were getting n/a modelling quality, we really couldn't say whether your back-tests were using Tickstory data. If you really do not wish to repeat all tests again, I would suggest doing spot checks on the existing back-tests with 99% modelling quality ones.

Regards.
