Hi Muplayer,

You will need to ensure that your terminal does not connect to your broker otherwise historical data can be overwritten. One way to do this is to not login when prompted. We recommend you keep a separate terminal specifically for back-testing so you don't affect your live setup.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Check the following:

1) Export the data via Tickstory. Note the "server" you export to. Some terminals have both a 'Demo' and 'Live' server and depending which is selected, the data will be exported to the respective location. Check that the data exists within the respective MT4 HST & FXT folders.
2) Start up MT4 - don't allow the terminal to connect to the broker. Note the server you are connecting to.
3) In MT4, check the history center to ensure the data exists for the date range you exported. Also go to File->Open Data Folder and double-check that the data exists and that it corresponds to the folder you exported to.

Hope this helps.

Hi - could you please check to make sure the FXT file is marked as "read-only" in Windows Explorer. Also, have you successfully launched your Metatrader terminal via Tickstory's launcher (i.e. by pressing F8 or selecting the Launch option)?
It appears that your FXT file has been overwritten which usually is caused by the above-mentioned.

Thanks.
