Tickstory mass export question

If I selected all of the available pairs downloaded in Tickstory:

And I apply my broker settings on the MetaTrader Info:

Will this same setting "adapt" to the other exports as well where it would export its appropriate settings?

I ask this so I don't have to manually export them one by one!

Hi Jet_toyco,

You can use the "Symbol" combo box to select whichever instruments you want to mass export. For each symbol, Tickstory will remember your settings for each (lot size, map to, etc). You can then do "Save as" of this configuration and then "Load" it each time you want to export. Each of the symbol settings will be applied to when exporting your selected symbols.

Hope this helps.

I'm honestly still confused, can you help me out?

Can I select all on tickstory and then export all at the same time?

Or do I have to export the symbols one by one to make sure the appropriate setting for each symbol is applied, thanks!

Hi Jet_toyco,

The steps are as follows:

1. Select the symbols you wish to export and then right-click and select "Export to MT4...". For this example, we have selected AUDUSD, CADCHF and CADHKD as shown in the screenshot.

2.
a) In the "Metatrader Info" tab you can change/edit any account information if necessary.
b) Then, in the "Symbol" drop-down select the each symbol you have selected for export (i.e. firstly AUDCAD in our example).
c) Select your broker's symbol name from the "Map to" box (sometimes it is exactly the same as Tickstory's symbol name but it can be different on different MT4 brokers). After making your "Map to" selection, you will note that all the symbol properties (such as Lot size) are automatically changed/populated with your broker's symbol information.
d) Repeat step b) and c) every symbol you are exporting (or wish to export in the future). (In our example, we will repeat for CADCHF and CADHKD).

3. Once you have configured all this information as you would like, press the "Save as..." button. This will save all your settings into an ".mt4config" file for later use. You can name it after your broker and you can have one configuration file for every broker you wish to work with.

4. Press 'OK' to proceed with your export as you have configured it.

5. When you next want to export, this file can be loaded again with the "Load..." button. Doing this will retrieve all your account and symbol information you have previously configured and saved and means you will no longer need to do Step 2 and 3 any more.

Hope this clarifies.

Thank you for the reply, took me some time to grasp it but I got it.

I currently have my broker's FXT settings (retrieved via tickstoryinfo EA) and I have it saved as default.

When I do mass export (selecting symbols I wish to export) I just have to use the dropdown (Step B) to make sure that they are set to my broker's settings

So, the next time I do this I can freely just select all then export?

Thank you!

Hi Jet_toyco,

It's Step C which is to choose your broker's symbol from the "Map to" field which gets all your broker's symbol settings.

If you save all this configuration as default then yes, it will be used automatically the next time you export. Otherwise,
you can save all this configuration (Save As->.mt4config file) and then load it in next time (Load...) you export to MT4.

Hope this helps.
