backtester always needs fresh tickdata download

i've used tickstory for a couple of weeks with no issues.
but i've suddenly discovered that each time i restart mt4 platform, backtester doesn't work unless i re-download tickdata each time.
i moved my backtesting platform to fresh mt4 but problem still persists. can you help? thanks

Could you please elaborate on the "backtester doesn't work"? Does it give an error? Does it erase your FXT files?

it seems the problem was the ea i was testing cos i eventually tried another ea and everything works fine now.
