Tickstory

Hi,
My Strategy Tester on MT4 hangs after I click the Start button. Please help.

This is how I did it, please let me know if I did something wrong in the steps:
1) I have Export to MT4 and data finished downloading.
2) Launched MT4 from Tickstory menu.
3) When MT4 started, I did not login to any account.
4) I open the Strategy Tester and click 'Start' button.
5) Nothing happened. I waited about 20 minutes.

Thanks for the info. It looks like you are using "portable" mode but haven't set the /portable command-line argument for this (check manual and also this forum for more information on this).
I'm not sure if that's the cause of your issue, but it certainly will help to configure this correctly.
After that, please only export say 3 months of data to begin with and test with the "MACD Sample" EA to make sure you get 99% modelling quality.

Hi, I have identified the problem.

I cannot use the date range when I want to use the strategy tester. Not sure why but maybe there's an issue with tickstory tick file and date range? FYI, the file is below 4 GB.
