Suitable Launcher Could not be Found!

Hi team,

I just bought the licensed version and I am getting this error no matter what I try. I have been through the trouble shooting checklist, I've run tickstory as Admin, I've even ried with multiple versions of MT4. Still no good. Can someone please shed some light on how to solve this?!

Windows 10, Tickstory version 1.8.9.1, MT4 is XE version 1090.

I've attached the error message, but it's just the same one everyone else is reporting.

Please help! This is doing my head in.

Hi Mitch,

Would you happen to have the Tick Data Suite installed or some other software that interacts with Metatrader? This is known to have issues and will need to be uninstalled for the launcher to work.

Hi guys,

I did indeed have that program on my computer. I uninstalled it and that took care of the error message. However, although it now launches MT4, it doesn't seem to follow through with it. There is no change to the MT4 platform to show Tickstory is integrated, and the tester just works as it would usually.

Is there something else I'm missing?

Hi Mitch,

That sounds positive. The launcher doesn't report a successful launch - it only raises an error is there is an issue. As long as you get 99% modelling quality in your report results, this denotes that everything is working fine (including that you have exported data correctly). Please check that out.

Dear Sir,

Before I use the tickstory, I have been install the Tick Data.
Now I buy the tickstory V1.8.9.1.
Before I install the tickstory, I have already remove the TickData.
I have not to input the license code.
I think I can test the tickstory before license it.
Now I got the same error. Can you help how to solve it?

Hi Joexie15, It appears you have not yet applied your license in the Help->License menu. Please do this first and it should resolve the error you are seeing.
