Historical Data Center Forum now available!

The new historical data repository forum is now available to allow users to share their historical trading data with the community. Data can include quotes, news, trades, candle data and so forth across any market around the world*. Typically the data will be a time-series format which means there will be a time stamp associated with every data event. The format of the file should be an open format such as CSV, TAB, etc.

Below is a posting template that will allow you to neatly categorise the data you wish to share. Please take the time to fill it as completely as possible before submitting your post.

We hope this new forum area will provide users with a useful "go-to" data repository to get you going with your back-testing. We also hope you can get into the community spirit and share any useful data you may have collected!

*Before sharing this data, please ensure you have the right to distribute it.

I would be happy to share my FXCM tick data with the Tickstory community. But please could Tickstory add a "import CSV tick data" feature to the Tickstory 1.7 light ?
The Tick data from the down-loader look like this:

Hi Pipperoni - that's a great start - thanks for your contribution.

We are working on an import feature but for the time-being, you are welcome to share the information as-is.

Kind regards.

Hello - I am happy to upload some of my repositories as well although they are grouped by market, not individual symbol. How should I upload these?

Hi Mastertrader,

You can upload the data an archive in zip or rar format that contains the data for the group of symbols. This would then be posted in the appropriate section on the forum. We have also created a "Global" section for symbols such as FOREX which have no specific region.

Thanks for your contribution.

In whot format do you provide historical data?

My current service gives it in CSV file.

Hi Aaplt,

Tickstory supports exporting data into any custom format you desire. Check out this video for more information:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlGoGvshKZw

The manual also has more details.
As for the NSE data, the product page has an excerpt from the data file that shows you the format.

Regards.
