Chart HST data and Tickstory Show Data are different

Post by robe070 »

I'm having issues with the Dukascopy data in MT4 build 1280.
GBR.IDX => .UK100 in MT4
I deleted all the .UK100 HST files and closed MT4 before exporting from Tickstory.
I chose to update both FXT and HST files.
The chart is showing the H1 and M30 Open price at 10:00 am on 14th September 2020 as 6061.5
The chart is showing the M15 and M5 Open price at 10:00 am on 14th September 2020 as 6016.2.

When I look in Tickstory Show Data all the same time frames and the tick data are showing the price at that time as 6016.2.

In MT4 when I switch from M30 to M15 I can see that the general shape of the chart matches, but 10:00 shifts to the right on the chart by 3 hours.

Please explain what I am doing wrong.

Hi Robe,

A couple of things to note:

- To avoid potential overwriting/back-fill of your data from your broker, please leave your terminal disconnected. You can do this by simply by going to File->Login to Trade Account and typing an incorrect password.
- The Tickstory "Data Inspector" shows data in the "raw" local time-zone. If you are comparing the two, make sure your MT4 exported data is also in the same (i.e. Adjust timezone="None".)
- The Tickstory Data Inspector does not filter any data whereas the MT4 Export is set to exclude weekends by default. That said, this shouldn't affect your example).

FYI, we have tried to export data from 10th September 2020 to 20th September 2020 in MT4 and can see that the open price for GBR.IDX on the 14th of September is 6016.2 in all time-frames.

Hope this helps.
