Historical data for GOLD

Post by Keithreport »

Hi there,

I am considering paying for a subscription but like to find out if I can export out CSV of XAUUSD in 15 mins , hourly and 4 hourly . I am looking at data that goes from 2000 onwards if possible.

Can anyone advise please.
New to this so seek your patience if my question may seem obvious

Thank you!

Hi Keith and welcome ;)

Yes, you can get XAUUSD/GOLD historical data from 2003 onward as denoted on this page:

https://tickstory.com/dukascopy-histori ... te-ranges/

We are also expect to have a few new data-sources available soon that will provide additional sources for that information.

Tickstory allows you to convert the data into CSV into various time-frames which include 15 minute, hourly and 4 hourly.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the prompt reply.
So i can export CSV in Mt4 or using the tickstory program.

I am particular about this because some of my EA prototyping is done with excel macro

Hello,

That's correct. Here are some possible options working with Excel and Tickstory:

- From Tickstory, Export directly to a CSV file. This file can be loaded directly into Excel. Tickstory can model many different time-frames directly such as M15, H1, H4. Please see our video for more: https://youtu.be/6PzXNF3OlG8
- From Tickstory, Export to Metatrader 4. You can then use the Metatrader terminal or an MQL script to export your data to CSV.

The first method should be the most easiest and convenient for you.

Hope this helps.

I have download the *.bi5 file into specify folder, but when I ask for export to csv in 4hr.
I get an error stating "Access to the patth 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Tickstory\XAUUSD.csv' is denied.

And the Task status indicates as canceled.

Anyone knows what settings did I missed?

thanks for the prompt reply.

I have downloaded it successfully.
I am trading with pepperstone with a timezone UTC -5.

Can I export the data based on that ? the charts I exported seems to be misaligned by one hour. ( I am looking at 4hour charts)
Does anyone know how I can make the output data align with pepperstone's chart?

Regards
Keith
