can i tell mt4 to use tick data in the checkbox like tick data suite? like when i backtest?

Hi Elliot,

Tickstory does not integrate with MT4 in this way since we want our data to be compatible with all platforms. Tickstory also is standalone and does not run Windows services in the background.

so i purchased it, do i use the forum as support? and i got an error, i use aafx metatrader because when i tried to use the mt4 on my other hard drive(portable version) it would not accept it in the program. aafx metatrader is on the c drive. how do i backtest with 99%? and it uses real tick data?

If you are wanting to set up MT4 on an external drive, MT4 calls this "Portable mode". Configuring this mode in Tickstory is described in the section "Portable mode" here:

so oanda mt4 is on the f drive but it still does say its invalid directory

Hi,

Please make sure that you have started MT4 up at least once with the "/portable" option. Tickstory is looking for a specific set of files in the "MT4 Data Folder" and if it doesn't find them, it doesn't recognize the installation folder.

it takes a long time to export the data. can i open mt4 even if i get the error launching and it opens? after i exported the data?

so after editing the file i got it to accept oanda mt4 portable. now i am exporting the data again. and it tested very well and fast on aafx mt4.

i actually pretty much ran out of space on the other hard drive. it had 90gb free and it is now down to 5gb 88% processing in the export. 2007-2017. is their any way i can reduce the size of the data? or can i export csv files to make it go faster, it takes hours to export to mt4 when i need to go test on another mt4
