Hi Randomfox,

Can you please ensure that .NET v3.5 is installed on your server (this link may help: http://www.technig.com/install-net-fram ... rver-2016/).

After that, can you please ensure that you are running the setup as Administrator? You may want to check to see if there are other restrictions which are preventing the setup from being run (for eg. virus checkers, Windows restrictions, etc).

If you are still having difficulty, you can manually copy the Program Files folder from another PC.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply.
I have .NET 3.5 installed. Also, i already have 1.8.8 installed without any issue, it's just the new 1.8.9.1 that i have trouble with.
Tried as administrator - no success...

Thanks, RF

Just tried now to install on windows 8.
I get the following message:
Windows protected your pc
Windows smartscreen prevented an unrecognized app from starting. etc

Publisher: Unknown Publisher

Maybe that's what preventing it in windows server 2016?
Anyway - i think that this is an issue for windows 8 as well - this warning should not appear

Thanks - RF

Have a WA for this.
Did a new download, but extracted the file in windows 8.
then copied the extracted setup file to windows server 2016 - this time the installation was successful

Thanks - RF

Hi Randomfox,

Good to hear that the manual copy worked. It is possible that there is a setting under Windows Server that is preventing the setup from running normally, however you would think it would also apply to the main application file. If you manage to find out more, please let us know. We will be adding signing to our application in a future version which will prevent the warnings you are seeing.

Thanks.

Well, i copied the setup file after i unzipped it in windows 8, not the tickstory binary.
So i would rather say that there is an issue with unzipping the file in windows server 2016.
Thanks - RF
