Here is the latest screenshot of Journal after updating that info screen.

it seems that it is saying the FXT file is read only. I opened Tickstory as administrator though.

I just changed the attributes to the FXT files and took off "read-only".

It is now generating the report, but it still says n/a for modeling quality, but the value is different than it was before.

Here is the journal entries where the errors stopped and the trades started.

The mismatched bars is down huge. It was over 12,000 but it is still at 320.

What do I do from here?

Hi Jim,

The "read-only" message is not an error, merely a notification. It is expected.
The "calculate prices" has not been corrected, so it appears that you haven't copied all your symbol settings correctly over from your broker.

We have downloaded and installed the FXChoice terminal in order to help you out. Please follow the instructions below carefully:

1) Save the .mt4config attached on this message to your Windows "Documents" folder.
2) In Tickstory, select USA500IDXUSD and then "Export to MT4".
3) Select the date range you wish to export. For this initial test, just select a short (say 3 month) period.
4) Select the "Metatrader Info" tab.
5) Press the 'Load' button and then select the .mt4config file you have saved in your Documents folder. This will load all the settings for the FXChoice broker for the .US500Cash symbol.
6) In the "Map to" field, enter ".US500Cash" (without quotes)
6) Press OK and wait for the export to finish.
7) Launch MT4 via Tickstory.
8) In the MT4 Strategy Tester, select all the appropriate test settings (.USCash500 instrument, etc) and then press the 'Start' button on the MT4 Strategy Tester.
9) You should then end up with 99% modelling quality report.

Please do not deviate from these steps until you are more familiar with the process.

Please let us know how you go.

Thanks.

EDIT: Changed .USD500Cash to .US500Cash

Are you sure I should put the symbol as .USD500Cash

In my platform it is listed as

.US500Cash

no D

I promise you, I'm doing what you're telling me to do.

I tried it with the .USD500Cash and it couldn't find it. So I changed that symbol to match my platform .US500Cash

Here are the screenshots showing what I've done and the result.

Now I'm getting: 2017.05.23 17:57:29.972 TestGenerator: deficient data '.US500Cash1440' (59 rate records)

Here are all the screenshots of my process.

The final two screenshots.

Notice that the Earliest Date is still showing 2012 for some reason eventhough I changed that to 04/01/2017.

Hi Jim,

As per our discussion offline, this issue appears to be resolved and you are now getting 99% modelling quality. As noted, if you are using the "Daily" time-frame that you export at least 100 bars of data (at least 6 months should do it).

Happy back-testing! ;)
