FXT to CSV for rangebar backtesting?

Post by HarrisonFX »

Hello

I did a "Export to MT4" on 4 symbols. I need to be able to backtest rangebars (created by third-party vendor) using tickdata. The vendor describes how to do this using tickstory http://www.az-invest.eu/using-tickstory ... ng-quality only it states that the starting point is CSV files. Is there any way I can convert fxt to csv so I can run the custom script? I dont really want to have to download the same data in CSV format.

Please help! Thanks

Hi HarrisonFX,

If the third-party tool requires CSV input files, simply use Tickstory's "Export to File" function. There are a number of pre-defined formats (such as Birts "CSV2FXT" which might prove useful) and also custom formatting that allow you to export CSV in any way you choose. Check out these instructional videos for more (and also the user manual by pressing F1 in Tickstory):

Premptively, you may also want to check out this thread of a user who was having a few teething issues during the process of integrating with the Renko/Rangebar scripts:
